England all-rounder Sam Curran is looking forward to IPL 2020 so that he can play under the leadership of MS Dhoni.?

Sam Curran was picked up by Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020 auction. Chennai bought him for Rs. 5.5 crore. Sam had an amazing IPL last year with Kings XI Punjab. He strengthened the bowling department for Punjab and got a hattrick in his first IPL season last year.?

Curran was expected to join the Chennai training camp after completing the test series against Sri Lanka. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the England test team had to leave the series in the middle and fly back to their home. Also, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the IPL getting suspended for an indefinite time.?

Recently, Sam Curran got indulged in an interesting conversation with CSK on Instagram live.?

Talking about the Chennai Super Kings, Sam revealed that he is eager to share the dressing room with some legends of cricket especially MS Dhoni. He is hoping for IPL 2020 to happen sometime in the year and not get canceled. Curran further added that he is looking forward to learning from some of the greats of the game and pick their brains.?

During the Instagram live with CSK Sam Curran said, “I am obviously very gutted to see what’s going on at the moment. We would have probably been together at the moment in Chennai but there are a lot more important things going on. I am very excited to be playing alongside the captain, MS Dhoni. That’s going to be really like an incredible experience for me,”

On being asked about the favorite CSK player, Curran answered, “There are a lot of extremely talented players but I think it’s hard to go past MS Dhoni. Dhoni is a legend of international cricket. He has achieved so much in the game. I am really hoping the IPL does go ahead and I can pick his brains and play alongside him. Have heard he is a great captain. I am just excited to be part of the franchise,”?

Sam was all praises for the CSK?s coach and the Indian players. He also added that his former England teammate Sam Billings told him a lot about this IPL franchise.?

Curran acknowledged, “They have a great coach in Stephen Fleming. And there are huge Indian superstars there as well. Just to be able to pick their brains I have actually heard from Sam Billings. He was there for the last couple of years.”

“It’s an amazing franchise and a great set up. It’s something I am hoping that IPL will still go ahead whenever that is and I will get to represent Chennai.”, he further added.?

Curran’s introduction to the CSK?s WhatsApp Group

Though Sam misses being on the match field with his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. The all-rounder revealed that he was recently added to the WhatsApp group and received a warm welcome from all the players.?

Curran said, “I was invited to the WhatsApp group (CSK). That was a good day. Everyone said welcome and things like that, obviously that was very special. There have been loads of information about the virus and all that kind of stuff,”?

He added, “Chennai were training before all this happened. I was following their training session. We were actually in Sri Lanka. I was supposed to head to Chennai after our Test series in Chennai.”

Sam signed off saying, “Obviously, everything has changed very quickly. But I think it’s a scary time for everyone. It’s good to sit tight and be patient.”
