Former Australian captain Steve Smith and current Indian skipper Virat Kohli have always been on loggerheads while being on the match field. In a chat show, Steve Smith revealed his relationship with Virat Kohli, India tour of Australia, and many more things. 

India is expected to tour Australia for a four-match test series, three-match ODI and T20 series. The three T20 matches will be played between both the teams from October 14 to October 17. The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin on December 3 at Gabba. After the test series, India will a ODI series against Australia between January 12 and January 17.

On the Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected‘, Smith shared his excitement on playing against India. He said, “They are an amazing side and can’t wait to play them when they come out to Australia this year, will be something incredibly special,”

Virat Kohli is a terrific guy: Steve Smith

Steve Smith also opened up about his camaraderie with Virat Kohli. Praising the Indian skipper, Smith said that he is a terrific guy and they both share a good bond with each other outside the match field. 

He quoted, “I had few conversations with him (Virat) off the field, few messages here and there in recent times just to see how things are going in India. He is a terrific guy. We both play hard out on the field and play as well for our respective teams. It’s part of the game,”

One major highlight of World Cup 2019 was Kohli asking the Indian fans to cheer Steve Smith and David Warner instead of booing them. Kohli received a lot of appreciation for his sportsmanship and also awarded the prestigious ICC Spirit of Cricket award.

When asked about the same, Smith said, “Virat’s gesture in the World Cup to the Indian fans that were giving me (Smith) and David Warner little bit of a stick. I appreciated that and I share that with him straight up. He is a terrific guy and the way he has led the Indian team has been amazing,”
