India is under a state of nationwide lockdown to fight the spread of Coronavirus. Now, Rohit Sharma takes to the Internet to urge people to stay inside.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, asked all the citizens to light candles to show solidarity. This was supposed to happen for 9 minutes on 9pm on 5th of April. Every celebrity and cricketer around the nation did their bit to support the cause.

Unfortunately, there were certain groups who violated the quarantine protocol. They went out in groups with candles and fire sticks and burst crackers. Rohit Sharma, who did his bit with his wife, takes to Twitter to ask people to follow protocols.

Rohit Sharma says that there is no point in crowding the streets like it is the World Cup. Therefore, it is much better to stay inside and follow the words of Narendra Modi.

Stay indoors India, don’t go out on the streets celebrating. World Cup is still some time away.”

Not only did he participate in this, but also other players who did the same.

For example, veteran Indian Cricket player Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to express his emotions.

Social distancing is the only way to curb the spread of COVID-19

The Coronavirus threat is becoming a growing concern for the country. Therefore, in an attempt to curb the virus, the Government of India has kept the country under lockdown until the 15th of April. Following that there will be a decision taken on whether this will get extended or not. As of now, the Government has declined all possibilities of extension.
