However, it’s tricky to bring in 15 teams from across the globe and have at least 6 to 7 teams in one city at the same time. In the case of a bilateral series, bringing in one team is less complex than the former situation. Not only is Nick Hockley bringing forward this issue about T20 World Cup, but also PCB Chief, Ehsan Mani, raises the same concern. Additionally, Ehsan Mani reveals that the boards have been in constant conversation about the event. ICC has an event lined up for 2021 and 2023. Considering there is a gap year in between, it is possible the might consider it for the T20 World Cup 2020. The worst fear is a player falling ill and the virus spreading amongst others as well. This will lead to another chaos in the cricket industry and create panic.
“We have had a lot of discussions and the feeling is it (T20 World Cup) would not be possible this year. ICC has World Cups lined up in 2021 and 2023, so we have a gap year where we can adjust this event.”
