In a recent move to bring USA to international cricketing radar and to counter the growing influence of organisations like USA Cricket Council (USACA) at international level, the former USACA Presidential candidate Mahammad Qureshi has decided to appoint six CCUSA regional managers including various members of USACA.

CCUSA classifies itself as a ‘Sports and Entertainment Management Organisation’ and is famous for its annual T20 competition held every December in Florida which rakes around a revenue of $50,000 to $100,000.

Among the appointees announced are former long time USACA board member Krish Prasad from New York, former USACA South East Regional administrator and current South Florida Cricket Alliance president Melton Taylor, former USACA Central West regional director Mustafa Hemani from Texas and former USACA selector Dawood Ahmed from Washington, D.C.

The vice president Sofian Qamar emphasised on the fact that the regional directors were appointed on the basis of their achievements related to cricket during their time.

However, CCUSA has had its fair share of controversies as well. It allowed a banned Pakistani player, Danish Kaneria to play in the 2013 US Open T20. Also former US Open director for the years 2010, 2011, 2013, Jeff Miller was pleaded guilty for multiple charges of felony and theft.

In absence of any notification from the Olympic Committee, the ICC maintains its jurisdiction on having the final say in the matter. As per ICC all three committees must resolve their differences and work together as a whole to ensure balance in game.
