Injuries knock the door of the Indian test squad yet again, with Murali Vijay and Wriddhiman Saha being the latest victims. Vijay was already not part of the first test match of the series due to a hamstring injury and according to a BCCI press release, the injury seems to have aggravated and can be healed only through rigorous strength training.
Meanwhile Wriddhiman Saha, who had a steady partnership with Rohit Sharma in the first innings to notch up a half century, will not be able to complete the series due to a hamstring injury too. The talented Naman Ojha has been called in as a replacement for Saha.
Karun Nair, the skilled cricketer from Karnataka has earned a place in the national test squad as he will be filling in for Murali Vijay. The Ranji opener has already had a couple of brilliant seasons which has led to Karnataka dominating the domestic cricket front. His recent knock against the South African A side, was well appreciated thus proving his mettle and temperament.
In other news Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has been fined 65 % of his match fees for breaching the ICC code of conduct for giving send offs to Lahiru Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal.
