In the world of FPS gaming, nothing hurts more than seeing cheaters ruin the experience for everyone else. Over the past few years, titles like CS: GO, Call of Duty: Warzone, and many more have fallen prey to this problem. The latest to join the long list of problematic games is none other than Xbox’s title Halo: Infinite.

The 343 Industries title developed dropped out of nowhere earlier this month as a reward during the Xbox 20th anniversary celebrations. While players love the mechanics and multiplayer modes, it’s now facing a major challenge, courtesy of hackers.

Over the past few days, players have reported on various social media platforms how they’d been fighting against and with such cheaters. The developers announced today some measures to tackle these offenders. However, the community isn’t impressed with the system at all.

Halo: Infinite players disappointed with the lack of options

To prevent cheaters from overrunning the game, Halo Community Manager John Junyszek tweeted about the developers’ plan of action. As the FPS title’s free-to-play, it seems like Halo: Infinite’s bombarded with cheats and hackers using them to their advantage.

In order to combat them, players will have a hard time as the game currently doesn’t have a “report player” feature. However, fans can still report any cheater by submitting a support ticket, which includes a form to fill out details and provide additional proof including video evidence.

However, it seems like fans aren’t happy with this method at all. The Halo community has had a hard time combating these cheaters. However, it’s much more of a challenge for them to report these cheaters without an in-game feature to do it. Moreover, they want to see more improvements in the game’s preventive measures for cheating to stop these players from roaming around freely.

Players demand 343 Industries turn off cross-play

Along with that, many Halo: Infinite users on Xbox consoles have demanded with the developers to turn off cross-play. Even though the console has its cheaters using Cronus, most hackers have come from the PC world.

With cross-play turned off, console users for the free-to-play title will face much fewer hackers. But, it might ruin the experiences for average PC users as they will face more cheaters than usual.

In the end, turning off cross-play will definitely help Xbox console users. However, that dampens the experience for a ton of players who have enjoyed the gameplay of the title so far. With the entire game set to release within a few days, 343 Industries might want to improve its features for online gameplay, as the game will be soon overrun with fanatics who have waited a lot for a new Halo title.
