JR Smith faces an unfortunate situation at Phoenix Invitational

JR Smith, who is competing in his first-ever college golf event, got medical assistance after stepping on a beehive. This incident took place while he was searching for the ball in the woods on the 12th hole. However, he asked other players and groups to go ahead as he waited for the medical cart to arrive and examine him. Moreover, a Twitter user posted a video about the same by giving some more details.

The tweet read, “JR Smith gets the medical cart called in after stepping on a beehive while searching for his ball in the woods. Currently on the 12th hole and now letting other groups play through while he’s being evaluated.”

Moreover, JR Smith had a decent start to the event after carding 83 on day one. However, there is no further update about his situation and score in the second round. But the 36-year-old is famous for his fighting spirit, and hence we can expect him to continue with his play and finish his round.  

The former NBA champ had never touched a golf club in his childhood but now is competing in a college golf event. Furthermore, his fascination with this sport increased during a charity event. NBA legend Moses Malone introduced JR Smith to golf. And since then, he has been an ardent follower of this sport.
