Coco Gauff had an unusual finale on the biggest tennis court of the USA alongside the World Number one tennis player, Naomi Osaka. The 15-year-old’s run at the US Open 2019 was concluded against the defending champion, Osaka and Coco’s send-off was followed by an emotional moment in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
After her fairytale run at Wimbledon, Coco Gauff believes that she is capable surpassing Serena Williams’ heroic record on the WTA Tour and accomplish more than what she has achieved in her illustrious career.

Coco has an ardent desire to become the greatest of all times and overtake Serena Williams’ record of 23 Grand Slam titles. “I know I can do it,” she said when questioned upon getting past Williams.

“Some people were probably saying this was one time, this was the match of her life,” Coco Gauff said while she was in conversation with the TIME Magazine. “I learned that I’m capable of a lot of things. I learned to fight. I want to go to prom and all of that, but I definitely can make time to have that.”
She cleared out the difference between being confident and over-confident and emphasized upon her state of mind. “When you’re young, you just believe anything. When I got older, I really believed it for an actual reason, instead of just believing ’cause my dad told me. A lot of people maybe think of it as cocky. But I think it’s just confidence. I think I can beat anyone on the court,” Coco added.

Presently, at the US Open 2019, Coco Gauff is in the fourth round of the doubles event. She is in tandem with Caty McNally and they won the title in Washington last month. In the round of 16, Coco and Caty will play Victoria Azarenka and Ashleigh Barty.
