Unbeaten super welterweight elite, Claressa Shields is one of the greatest female boxers of all time, if not the greatest. Boasting 10 wins and 2 world titles, she is not just an elite pugilist, but also a household figure in the combat community. That said, Shields continues to garner new nicknames from the fans.

After being hailed as ‘T-Rex’ and ‘Wolf’, it seems the American boxer has made the choice of picking the perfect tag for herself. Before her super welterweight title unification fight against Marie-Eve Dicaire, Claressa Shields turned to Twitter and revealed her new nickname, as she called it, ‘GWOAT’.

Meanwhile, this isn’t a new nickname thrown by the champion boxer. She has been using the tag for the past few years, billing herself as the Greatest Woman Of All Time (GWOAT). So, Shields seemed to prefer the tag more than the nickname ‘wolf’, which several broadcasters have used in recent times.

A few days back, Shields called herself only second to Muhammad Ali in boxing. Not only that, but she also claimed that most of the male boxers would fall short in front of her in the ring.

“Muhammad Ali is first, and Claressa Shields is second. I am the greatest woman of all time, and 98 percent of men in the world can’t beat me,” said the ‘GWOAT’.

Claressa Shields- Boxer and Martial Artist

After attaining success in boxing, she has plans to move down to the world of Mixed Martial Arts. She has signed a deal with the MMA organization, PFL, and will soon make her MMA debut.

Meanwhile, Shields is honing herself at the Jacksonwink MMA. She is working alongside several elites like Michelle Waterson, Jon Jones, and Holly Holm.

Akin to Shields, ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ had also transitioned from boxing to the MMA universe and had been successful in both. So, Claressa Shields can walk the same path and enrich her legacy by being a world champion in two different sports.
