Cityzens Denied Christmas Bash by Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola is a perfectionist, but a perfectionist who has failed to achieve perfection in the current season. Manchester City are currently 17 points behind Liverpool with a game in hand. And 7 points behind Leicester City who are somewhat challenging Jurgen Klopp’s men for the title. You would say Guardiola’s challenge for his third straight title triumph is already over. And many would agree with you. But the Spanish genius is refusing to give up.

Pep Guardiola has made it clear to his players that they are not allowed to attend their Christmas bash on Friday. As he doesn’t want the same controversy as last year’s.

The former Barcelona player was left fuming when he was informed about his players misconduct during their Christmas bash last year. There was staff party organised by Manchester City on the account of Christmas last year. The players who were also invited, took advantage of the occasion and went out partying themselves. The players were partying in pubs like Chinawhite and Great Northern Warehouse till early hours.

Matter worsened for Pep Guardiola when his players reported back in not-so-great shape. Manchester City lost two consecutive matches against mid-tablers like Crystal Palace and Leicester City. And hence it’s understandable why the former Bayern Munich boss banned his players from partying.

It does sound a little harsh but Pep Guardiola is thought to be considering letting his players to have a party of their own on some other occasion. Though with almost every match being a must win for the Cityzens, partying should be the last worry for Guardiola’s men/

To make matters even worse, arch-rivals Liverpool, are seemingly romping away to title glory for the first time ever. They have already won the Champions League for the 6th time, and are on course for a 7th.
