Christian Eriksen has been one of the most important players at Tottenham Hotspurs for the best part of the last decade. He was highly influential in the rise of Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
Though his decline had coincided with Pochettino’s decline at the club. The Danish international only has six months left on his contract at Spurs. It seems he’s on his way to follow his former boss.

Although his departure has been a case of when not if, it has turned out to be rather tricky “when”. The player doesn’t want to be at the club and the club have moved on from him with the signing of Giovanni Lo Celso.
In came Inter Milan who were looking for a creative midfielder and in Christian Eriksen, they saw the quality and economical option.
And it is now being reported that the two clubs have reached an agreement for Dane’s move. Eriksen looks set to leave Spurs in the January itself.
A deal worth around the €20 million mark is said to have been agreed.
This is a deal which makes sense for all the parties. Tottenham Hotspurs and Daniel Levy would not be losing their player for free.

Christian Eriksen doesn’t have to wait for another six months to re-start his career. For Inter Milan and Antonio Conte, they would be getting a highly effective player who can have an immediate impact, just what Conte required.
Jose Mourinho was recently quoted saying this about the player, “I just want to say that this situation shouldn’t happen on the 25th of January. And it is not Tottenham’s fault that on the 25th of January we are in the situation.

“The only thing I can say is Eriksen since I arrive, he is behaving in a very, very professional way, with me and the team. Tottenham is the last one to blame for this situation, but to be on the 25th of January in a situation like this is not nice.”
Christian Eriksen made a total of 305 appearances for Tottenham Hotspurs and he scored 69 goals while providing 89 assists. Though his biggest disappointment would be not winning a trophy with Spurs.
