Chelsea ended their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 victory over Spanish side Real Sociedad at the Bridge. Both goals coming from the new frontman Diego Costa. Costa has had a great pre Season in which he scored 4 goals and played a major role in setting up goals for others. His performances have brought an air of an excitement at the bridge and all the other new signings had a good pre-season as well.
The return of Didier Drogba has also brought a lot of happiness. Jose Mourinho has said in a press conference that he is happy with this Chelsea team which he feels has potential to grab the title. He also feels Chelsea have a team with such depth that it could dominate English football for the next decade, sending out a warning to his rivals. Chelsea were busy in the transfer market and were successful in getting replacements for Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard. Cesc Fabregas already has a taste of English football and will now look to help Chelsea win silverware. Luis has been solid at the back and also look great bombing down the flanks looking to provide the crosses for Drogba or Costa to use their aerial ability.
Mourinho will have a difficult time deciding who should be the first choice for goal keeper as he has now 2 world class goalkeepers in the form of Petr Cech and Tibhaut Cortios. Chelsea had the best defensive record last season. The inclusion of Nemanja Matic in January strengthened the team but he could not play in the champions league. Mourinho will be looking to make full use of his ability to help the defence. We Could also expect to see a moreflamboyant Chelsea side with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Cesc Fabregas , Willian and world cup winner Andre Schrrule making up a midfield filled with talent capable of tormenting defences and making goalscoring opportunities up front for the strikers.
All the rival clubs have made changes to their team, strengthening their current line-up. Chelsea should expect a lot of stiff competition from the gunners who added more creativity to their team by securing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona and Manchester United will look to be a threat as they had a brilliant pre-season under the new manager Louis Van Gaal winning all their matches. On the whole Chelsea looked to have resolved all their issues in the team, are probably the strongest team coming into the new season and they should be able to bring back the Premier league from Manchester to London after a gap of 4 Long years.
