Manchester United have long been linked to the Canary Island-born Spanish international forward and reports indicated that United’s vice-chairman, Ed Woodward had flown to Barcelona on Monday to conclude the deal with him.
However, both Woodward and Louis van Gaal did not really press on their initial interest in signing Pedro. This somehow convinced him that United were not interested in signing him. And a source from within the club has said that United have ended their interest in signing Pedro.

Chelsea got in touch with both Barcelona and Pedro. José Mourinho personally called him up, convincing him of his worth and his future at Chelsea. This has seemed to sway his interest in signing for the reigning Premier League champions. Chelsea are willing to stump up more cash for Pedro than United. £19 million is being offered by Chelsea, compared to the £17 million United were putting on the table.
Pedro will have a medical exam on Wednesday under the supervision of the Chelsea medical staff before completing his move. He will be linking up with former teammate, Cesc Fàbregas. Pedro will leave Barcelona after having appeared in 321 matches, scoring 99 goals and winning 21 trophies throughout his tenure with the Catalans. He has also been regular in the Spanish national team, scoring 16 goals in 51 matches.
