However, the clash between the two teammates – Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott- was a topic of discussion this season. And with the two of them qualifying for the next round, fans seem divided between Elliott and Larson’s chances of winning the championship.
Recently, NASCAR on NBC asked fans about their opinion on who would advance further in the NASCAR Playoffs. And unsurprisingly, NASCAR fans immediately poured their views into the comment section. However, it was interesting to notice that they pre-dominantly picked Chase Elliott overKyle Larson.
Many were excited to witness Larson achieve two consecutive Cup Series championships this season. Since Jimmie Johnson, no other NASCAR driver has been able to register two successive wins. And if Larson archives that, it would be historic.

However, most NASCAR fans in the comment section supported Chase. The #9 Chevrolet driver is currently ruling the points table. Currently, with more than 3040 points to his name, Elliott will likely clinch the 2022 Cup Series title. Although it would not be as historic as Kyle’s, the 2020 Cup Series champion will still register his second career win.
I am a huge Kyle Larson fan, but I’ve got Chase winning the championship. Chase seems to get wins when he needs them most and I say he gets lucky and wins it. Kyle has had a great year, but he’s still adjusting to the car somewhat.

However, it is clear that whoever wins, Hendrick Motorsports will be adding another feather to its hat. With all four drivers in Round 12, the team has maximized its chances of winning the series.
Although Larson and Elliott are not on friendly terms at the moment, the two of them will continue working with the same team in the coming years.

Furthermore, Chase Elliott also signed a multi-year contract in February 2022. The driver will continue to race for Hendrick Motorsports until 2027. Like Larson, Elliott too was thrilled to continue his contract with the team. He said;
“I feel so fortunate to be in this position. I have a great team with leadership from Alan (Gustafson, crew chief) and the support of the best car owner and racing organization in the world. For me, there’s a lot of pride in driving for Hendrick Motorsports and having the opportunity to win races and compete for championships.”
