Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War released only a couple of days ago and its campaign is being considered nothing but a banger. However, there have been rising complaints amongst the community about the game’s multiplayer.

Players have already discovered a glitch in the multiplayer of Black Ops Cold War that makes them spawn on the enemy spawn point. Not to mention the tediously slow XP gain for both players and weapons.

But what tops the list of grievances is the skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system in the game’s multiplayer. Chicago Huntsmen captain Scump has been complaining about it ever since the Black Ops Cold War beta.

Recently, Call of Duty pro Censor posted a tweet with a suggestion that Activision should have seriously considered. Even Scump tweeted the same thing.

Censor’s suggestion for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

Introducing SBMM only in ranked playlists will nip the problem in the bud. The problem with the current system is, it pits “sweats”, or players who are aggressively grinding against players who are leisurely trying to enjoy the game.

The fact that devs have kept a very slow rate of XP gain for both players and weapons is to ensure at least some balance in matchmaking. However, it is making the grind too tedious, and frankly, more difficult than it has to be.

On the other hand, introducing SBMM in the ranked match playlist only will keep the pub matches free of sweats. Scump posted a tweet about this recently as well:

Devs have probably taken notice of the fact that players are not too happy with the SBMM system. However, the slow XP gain does not seem to neutralize the issue. We can hope that Activision takes note of this suggestion and fixes it because the issue is ruining the fun for those who are simply trying to have a good time.
