The NFL season is on and with exactly four months to go for the Super Bowl, fans are cheering their favorite teams for championship glory. As this craziness continues, in the background players are constantly being signed to the premier league. At the same time, Dwayne Johnson was trying his best to sign NFL superstar Colin Kaepernick to the XFL.

And as that doesn’t seem to be working in the XFL’s favor, Johnson might just turn to signing a YouTuber to strengthen the XFL.

The XFL has already had two successful seasons, and Johnson and Co. are gearing up for the 3rd in 2024. And it’s exactly for that reason that he and his team were trying to sign quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the XFL. Johnson mentioned on Instagram that he also met Kaepernick’s team.

But Johnson is doubtful that the move will ever happen. Also, Kaepernick just wrote a letter to the New York Jets offering his services after Aaron Rodgers commented on their poor performance. Thus making it crystal clear that he has no intentions of joining the XFL. Now that Kaepernick is off the list, Johnson might have his eyes set on another star, a YouTube sensation. We are talking about 26-year-old Youtuber Donald De La Haye, aka, Deestroying. He has already played for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League in 2019. However, he only played the preseason games and was on the suspended list at the time.

But he had a chance to meet up with The Rock and co-owner of the XFL Dana Garcia in February when the Arlington Renegades and Vegas Vipers were playing against each other. During that meeting, he expressed that he would love to play for the XFL if they ever needed his services. To which The Rock replied, “Tell me when you are ready”. Clearly going to show that Johnson is very much interested in getting him on board the XFL ship. Also, right before the game, Deestroying and Renegades’ Marquette King Jr. spoke about him joining the XFL. To which he replied, “But the fact that this league is back… I’m gonna see how the league goes and I’m gonna see if you feel me if I wanna maybe play in the XFL.”.

So we’ll just have to wait and watch to see if Johnson eventually signs Deestroying to the XFL for the 2024 season. But why did Deestroying stop playing football in the first place?

Deestroying is a Youtube sensation currently with over 5.4 million subscribers. But before he decided to do Youtube full-time, he was pursuing a career in football during his college days.

Then in 2017, the NCAA told him that he could not profit from his YouTube channel as he was a sports scholar with the NCAA. So he had to make a hard choice to either give up his scholarship or become a Youtuber full-time.

He chose the latter, and the rest, as they say, is history. But with XFL season 3 coming up, there is a huge probability that Johnson might just sign Deestroying to the XFL to help him fulfill his football dream. But what do you think would be Johnson’s final decision?
