Following Endeavor’s purchase of WWE and the birth of TKO Holdings Group, there has been a lot of talk about how things will change at the professional wrestling company and people are intrigued if we will get to see WWE superstars crossing over to the realm of MMA.
And when Bianca Belair appeared with Montez Ford appeared on UFC 298, in a backstage interview she cleared the air on whether the longest reigning African-American champ would ever switch to the other side of the combat realm.
Bianca Belair opens up on being an MMA fighters

This Saturday, February 17, Bianca Belair attended the UFC 298 event that took place at the Honda Arena in Anaheim, California, an arena where the episode of Monday Night RAW next Monday will be held on the occasion of the merger between UFC and WWE forming TKO. There, during a backstage interview Belair was asked if she would like to try her hands on MMA and fight inside the Octagon. This is when Belair revealed her respect for the sport but she would prefer being a wrestler instead. She stated, “I see myself training for it. I have a lot of respect for what they do, just like I think they have a lot of respect for what we do. Which is amazing that you know we are here tonight, and we have RAW here on Monday. But I would love to train and get the skills that they have.”

She further added, She further added, “I have been in the ring with some women that have some of this background, like Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler; they are tough, and I would love to have some skills that they have. But as far as competing, I think I’m gonna stay in the WWE ring. If they wanna come over to WWE like Ronda Rousey did, come meet me there. We can see what we do, but you know, as far as that goes, I think the training is as far as I would go.”
Well, the training can surely come in handy for the 34 year old as she recently earned her ticket to the Elimination Chamber in what was quite an intense match. For those who missed it, here’s a brief.

Belair gearing up for another title win
Bianca Belair was put up against Michin for a spot at the women’s Elimination Chamber match. The duo were evenly matched where Michin put up a fight, and even put Belair on the ropes. However, in the final moments of the match, Michin tried to execute a Styles Clash, but Bianca Belair managed to break free to counterattack with a definite KOD. With her victory, ‘The EST of WWE’ earned her ticket to the event at Perth, where she will face Becky Lynch and four other opponents to earn a title shot.

This will be Belair’s second appearance in an Elimination Chamber match. Her first time inside the dangerous steel structure took place in 2022, where she won and got a shot at the RAW Women’s Championship. Belair previously held the RAW Women’s Championship long enough to shatter MVP’s previously held record as the United States Champion for 343 days in 2007-2008 to become the longest reigning African-American champ.
