The news of WWE getting sold was up in the air for quite a few months. The fans were apprehensive about the sale of WWE and where it would end up. Then a while back, it was revealed that UFC’s parent company Endeavor struck a deal and bought the company for a whopping $9.3 billion dollars. It was a great deal for Vince McMahon, as he put up WWE for sale for $9 billion dollars, but got more than he wanted from the deal.

After a week of the company’s sale, Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on why he believes UFC struck the deal of the decades when it took over the Stamford-based company.

In the latest edition of Strictly Business, Bischoff and Jon Alba discussed Endeavor buying the Stamford-based company. During the conversation, the WWE Hall of Famer put forward his point of view and confesses why he believes WWE and UFC together will gain significant revenue.

The former Raw manager started the conversation by highlighting all the similarities between both companies. He stated both companies resonate to an extent as both of them operate in almost the same manner.  

Bischoff said, “They both make a lot of money on Premium Live Events or pay-per-views, television distribution business, live events and live event sponsorship, and negotiating with major arenas around the country. So there are a lot of similarities within the respective companies in terms of the business units.

The former Impact Wrestling Executive Producer continues to say that UFC has been around for almost 15 years, whereas WWE has been for almost around 40 years. This makes WWE a “mature” company. He adds WWE has a “sophisticated licensing and merchandising department and an international television distribution arm.”

Bischoff thinks all these factors will play a major role in benefitting the MMA promotion company. It will also aid UFC in reaching the same level of maturity the Stamford-based company possesses.

Only time will tell how the combined future of WWE and UFC will work out in terms of revenue numbers. But as for now, fans can infer WWE will get a new direction after the sale.

Following the news making headlines, Endeavor Group’s CEO, Ari Emanuel made the fans clear about his plans for WWE. In a recent interview, he confessed to turning WWE to UFC 2.0. It would be interesting to see what changes this deal brings along with it.
