It seems we are heading toward a more explicit content-based era. Although it’s not a bolt from the blue to see actors/actress taking off their clothes for the sake of a movie, the phenomenon has been taking over the sports entertainment world of late. John Cena and Conor McGregor are the two recent instances of this eerie trend.

Just a few days back, WWE icon John Cena took the internet to storm by going nude during his Oscar 2024 appearance. The Champ also joined an adult content site for promotional purposes for the movie Ricky Stanley and continued hyping it up with several suggestive tweets throughout. Even before the dust settled, another sports biggie, Conor McGregor’s bold scene in the movie Road House has also now come to the surface. But why did they subscribe to these shots? What’s lying behind? Let’s dive deeper into the inside track.

The reality behind John Cena’s controversial Oscar 2024 appearance

While a chunk of people might have seen the skit as a cry for attention or bizarre, John Cena had a serious purpose for coming out nearly naked on the Oscar stage. He paid homage to an infamous streaking incident from the 1974 Oscars memory book, conveying the significance of costumes in filmmaking and the respect for the male body through a humorous presentation.

However, it was not as raw as it seemed. The leaked backstage photos spilled that Cena actually wore nude-colored underwear that hid his private parts and did not just appear with an oversized envelope.

UFC star Conor McGregor signed up for a naked scene in his feature movie debut

On the other hand, fighter UFC Conor McGregor chose to bare it all only for his first-ever feature film, Road House. In the film, the Irishman fits into the role of a mercenary named Knox, but The Notorious isn’t just getting in fights for his role. He also performed some super-bold nude scenes in the movie. While talking about it in a recent interview, the 35-year-old revealed from where his drive to do this scene stemmed from. His friend and the legendary actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the inspiration as he pulled out a similar scene in his first movie, The Terminator, in 1984. However, McGregor isn’t a fan of this NFSW scene at all and legit thinks the skin-revealing part was exaggerating to some extent.

“It was a little too much ass. Just a little too much. The last shot was not necessary. Could have just been the back. The back was solid. I’m just here to perform,” said the Irishman in his trademark humorous fashion. The only major concern the UFC star had was if his mother would take kindly to the scene in the movie after the Irishman did not inform her of the scene in the movie. To conclude, and connect both of these escapades, we can take the close distance between the Oscar 2024 and the release of the movie Road House, (21st March 2024). The trend showcases the collision of the entertainment and the sports world and the demands that need to be adhered to bridge the gap seamlessly.
