Perhaps one of the biggest news this week in the sporting world was WWE and UFC’s official merger. After getting two of the biggest promotions in MMA and pro wrestling, Endeavor, their current owners, has floated a new company by the name of TKO. Within 72 hours of acknowledging this development, Dwayne Johnson, who has an active partnership with UFC, has vowed to fix an issue that has led to the criticism of the union several times in the past.
The WWE icon is one of UFC’s main sponsors through his Project Rock enterprise, which in itself is a collaboration between The Rock and apparel giant Under Armour.

Dwayne Johnson’s new offering to rectify past mistakes?
Johnson is a busy man who has his fingers in multiple pies. Apart from making movies, The Brahma Bull has interests in several sectors, leading to the formation of various brands, including Project Rock.

Johnson’s partnership with the Dana White-led promotion makes it mandatory for the athletes on the UFC payroll to wear Project Rock shoes. The footwear line has been trashed by former UFC fighter Nate Diaz during his stint with the MMA promotion. Not just the 38-year-old veteran, UFC fan favorite Max Holloway also joined the dissenting voices earlier this year by urging Nike to step in and help him out.
While Johnson hasn’t been vocal about the criticism he has received, it looks like The People’s Champion was all ears. After all, he has now brought out a fix to the nagging issue. As per one of Dwayne Johnson’s recent posts on Instagram, his Under Armour collaboration has launched the new Project Rock BSR 3 footwear. The training shoes are priced at $100 a pair and according to the 51-year-old, it’ll help the UFC fighters to brave their obstacles.

“MMA is one of the greatest (and hardest) sports in the world and I want all these athletes to WIN in the cage and win at life. And it all starts in the gym 💪🏾👟,” he said. The improvement looks to tackle the issues that the previous line of footwear ran into.
Meanwhile, despite this, there’s another issue related to the UFC-Project Rock partnership.
