‘The Notorious’ UFC star Conor McGregor is infamous for several of his traits. Although he is widely known for verbally attacking various people, several of his targets are recurring in nature because he looks like has a knack for demeaning WWE personalities. Ever since the Irishman became a known entity, he has used the public platform to express his views on pro wrestlers.
In a clear manner, the world understands that McGregor is not a fan of WWE. The MMA fighter doesn’t appreciate the pro wrestling business, probably because of their ‘scripted’ fights. However, he also personally dislikes John Cena, who is an all-time fan-favorite.

After becoming the World Featherweight Champion for UFC, McGregor made degrading public comments about WWE. Wrestling legend Ric Flair did not appreciate his words and threatened McGregor to not repeat himself again. When a reporter revealed Flair’s comment to McGregor in 2016, he replied with discretion. The Irishman claimed to respect Flair because he is a WWE legend. However, it’s the later generation of wrestlers that he is not a fan of.
Among them, the only one he named was John Cena. “What’s the main guy… John Cena. He’s 40 years of age. He’s running around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there; he’s a weak, fat, 40 years old, failed Mr. Olympia motherf**ker,” said The Irishman about the WWE legend.
Cena has never taken part in any prestigious bodybuilding competitions, such as Mr. Olympia. However, McGregor still called him out on being a ‘failure’ because Cena’s bodybuilding career couldn’t match the heights of his WWE run.
Over time Conor has turned down his insults for the wrestling promotion. But now there is more of a chance for the UFC superstar to appear in WWE than there was ever before and confront one of their stars.
Will Conor McGregor face John Cena in the future?
