Former WWE star Dwayne ‘“The Rock”Johnson is a business tycoon along with being a blockbuster Hollywood star. One of his first business ventures was Seven Bucks Production. The studio has produced many hit films and has an impressive track record. Now, following the end of the Hollywood strike, Johnson added some new faces to his production company which happens to have laurels of their own. With these new executives, Johnson has few plans on his mind that involve a few fan-favorite franchises.
Dwayne Johnson adds former Sony Pictures Television alumni to his company
As reported by Deadline, Sony Pictures Television’s former Senior Vice President Scott Landsman has joined Seven Bucks Production. Landsman oversaw the comedy development of the production company’s various comedy shows such as Woke, Twisted Metal, and Good Times. He will be the company’s Head of Television. Along with Landsman, Verve’s first internally promoted female agent, Melissa Fried, will be joining the family too. She will be the Vice President of film development and production.

Fried started off her career as an entertainment attorney and later has been instrumental in the careers of various filmmakers such as Jac Schaeffer (WandaVision) and Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) to name a few. As Seven Bucks Productions’ co-owner Dany Garcia said, “This is an extremely exciting moment for Seven Bucks, as we expand our team with two top-quality executives”, she happens to have a lot of faith in the two new executives.
With the new executives in the picture, Johnson is planning to get back to work as soon as possible. The production slate for his studio is already in place with many surprising announcements.
Upcoming Dwayne Johnson projects
The production house has more than 60 films and television shows which are in active development. His Christmas holiday movie Red One has been green-lit and might see the light of day soon. Apart from that new installments of Fast and Furious and Jumanji franchises are also in work. The live-action Moana is also in the works and fans might get to see this adaptation by 2025.

Apart from that, a biopic based on the first female Pinkerton agent is also in the works which will star Emily Blunt. Johnson is also set to collaborate with Vice Studious to work on a special project. They will be working on a docuseries which will be focusing on WCW. The title of the series has not been announced yet but the primary focus will be how the beloved American pro wrestling promotion crumbled. Which of these projects are you excited to see?
