Despite Being Poles Apart, Seth Rollins Explored an Outrageous Connection Between Lionel Messi and Wife Becky Lynch While Presenting at the ESPYs

The world last year finally saw soccer legend Lionel Messi lifting the FIFA World Cup after scoring two goals against France in the final. Messi is one of the greatest soccer players of all time, and recently WWE superstar Seth Rollins made an outrageous connection between his wife and him. Both, Rollins and Lynch appeared at the ESPYs to present an award.

Rollins would compare The Man Becky Lynch with Lionel Messi while awarding the best play of the year at the ESPYs 2023. However, while presenting the award, Rollins would shock the world with his over-the-top statement while comparing Lynch with Messi.

What did Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins state while comparing Becky Lynch with Lionel Messi?

The couple would come to the stage together to present the ESPYs. They would present the ‘Best Play of the Year’ award, and while doing so, both of them would start talking about some of the best moments of the year.

While doing so, Rollins would make the comparison between Lynch and Messi. He said, ” Each of the plays nominated tonight is like their own WrestleMania moments. You could argue that Messi scoring two goals in the World Cup final is almost like Becky winning two championship titles on the same night.”

However, post these comparisons, Lynch would try and bring up another moment while comparing Rollins with Messi. She would claim that Rollins’ ‘Heist of the Century’ is equal to Messi’s World Cup win. However, Rollins in his true WWE self stated, “Nah! Well, I am Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. Making moments is what I Do.”

The comparison between Lynch and Messi maybe outrageous considering the polar opposite worlds of WWE and soccer. However, based on Rollins’ extravagant character, the comparison was nothing uncalled for, and fans enjoyed the moment to the core. While they compared themselves to the soccer legend, Justin Jefferson of The Minnesota Vikings came up and received the award for his one-handed catch against the Bills.
