From revamping the XFL to building the Teremana brand; Johnson has taken new or broken names and built them up. But if the rumors are true, Johnson is about to make an unwise financial decision that could lead to millions of dollars worth of loss.

There are rumors circulating that Seven Bucks Production, Johnson’s company, is in the final talks with other businessmen, including the TV actor, Ray Whitestone, to buy English National League Club Southend United, whose financial woes have surfaced, which means buying the club could be an ill-advised step.

Southend United is a club in the fifth division of English football. From late payments to protracted takeovers, the club has suffered much but fans still stuck to it through thick and thin, but it seems like the club might meet its end. If the club isn’t able to pay £1.4 million to settle a tax bill, the club will be shut down.

While they were able to survive through these times till now, it seems their woes are never-ending as the water supply was cut off to the training ground of the club as well. Echo News reported, “And the seriousness of their financial woes was further underlined this afternoon when the water supply was cut off at the club’s Boots & Laces training ground, due to an unpaid bill.

This water cut comes after a series of late payments, no medical cover, and a major shortage of players as well. The club hasn’t even started playing friendlies with other clubs in the pre-season due to the circumstances at the club So, the question remains, will Johnson invest in this club?

Despite his $800 million net worth, Johnson is also not in his best financial years. With Black Adam unable to break even and XFL incurring a projected $60 million loss, Johnson may have a long hard look before investing in Southend United. But with investments like his brand, Teremana, and the continuous flurry of movies coming out in the next few years, Johnson just might be able to make a big comeback.

At the same time, investing in a club dealing with so many issues surrounding it, it’ll be difficult to 100% ensure success. Only time will tell if Johnson and Whitestone come together to pull the club out of this trouble or if it will die down because of its massive financial problems.
