One of the most discussed topics in the WWE Universe in recent days has been Randy Orton‘s potential in-ring return. Many reports emerge showing high chances of the Viper’s comeback at WrestleMania 39 considering his healing health. In fact, the star himself came up with clear desperation to wrestle on the biggest stage.

The day ahead of the showcase event, it has been finally confirmed that the injured star arrived in Los Angeles before WrestleMania 39, but it brings a more disheartening update for fans at the same time.

The Apex Predator last wrestled on last year’s SmackDown episode defending the Raw Tag Team Championship title along with Matt Riddle. He ended up losing the title to The Usos who unified the Raw and SmackDown title following the match. Shortly after, the Legend Killer’s serious back injury came to light, and he has been away from the ring ever since.

The latest heartbreaking report dismissed Cody Rhodes’ potential post-mania plan

Considering several updates about his return at WrestleMania, Orton was widely expected to be a perfect opponent for Cody Rhodes’ post-Mania feud. WWE Universe speculated if Rhodes will be able to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship title dethroning Roman Reigns, it will be none other than Randy Orton to be there to take on him next. Orton’s history with ‘The American Nightmare’ made it even more obvious for the 14-time WWE Champion.

However, that largely depended on his in-ring return, which looks way more uncertain than before after Dave Meltzer’s latest tweet. Disappointing a million fans and peers, the veteran wrestling journalist wrote on Twitter, ‘Just an update on Randy Orton. Don’t expect him to do matches any time soon as he’s a ways away from recovering from his back issues.’

This update is certainly contradictory to his previous report, where it has been suggested that Orton’s return is just a matter of time.

What awaits in the unforeseen future for Randy Orton?

However, for now, everything looks unclear. But considering The Viper’s arrival in Los Angeles 24 hours ago before the biggest event, we can expect him not to be in too bad condition health-wise. Also, if he does not appear on the WrestleMania stage, it could still be possible for him to appear in the next Raw episode.

In either case, there is still some hope for fans who have been missing the 43-year-old star terribly during his time off from the ring.
