John Cena has never been shy about his love for the sport of wrestling. But it turns out, the Hollywood superstar is also a big fan of American football. This is when the camera pans over to “The Cenation Leader” standing right beside him. The WWE legend goes on to say, “Oh, that’s just to see if you miss the FanDuel Kick of Destiny 2 Live on Super Bowl Sunday.” This is when Gronk realizes that he shouldn’t be enthusiastic about Cena following him if that’s the case. So, before showing the logo and music for ‘Kick of Destiny 2’, Gronk says, “Oh, that’s not cool,” and the video comes to a close.

This script was a hilarious callout to the former NFL superstar who missed his ‘Kick of Destiny’ last year during the Super Bowl that aired live in front of the American audience.

What was John Cena referring to in the video?

Although Gronkowski had retired from his NFL career in 2022, he came back for ‘Kick of Destiny’ during the Super Bowl of 2023. the FanDuel proposed small bet is actually a ‘bonus bet’ that allows fans to chip in $5 or $10 and bet on whether Gronkowski’s kick would be able to make it past 25 yards. Last year, the legendary tight end missed the kick but FanDuel shared the $10,000,000 amount among people who opted for the promo anyway.

This missed kick is what John Cena was referring to while making fun of Gronkowski’s kicking skills. The kicking bet doesn’t happen live at the Super Bowl but is aired during the event from an undisclosed location. Despite the botched kick last year, FanDuel is back with their minigame.

Last year, Gronk’s girlfriend had also spoken about his missed kick. This year, things seem to be getting serious because of cross-sport involvement with John Cena entering the scene.
