Over the years, Heyman gained notoriety due to his mic skills and his compelling and controversial promos. That said, Heyman has once again figured out a way to stir things up. This time, Heyman has taken aim at the sport of football, which could spark outrage among fans.
The Wiseman made a guest appearance alongside Roman Reigns on ESPN’s First Take. The duo discussed a variety of topics, ranging from Reigns’ upcoming Tribal Combat to his top five Super Bowl contenders. However, in typical fashion, Heyman offended the football fans.

There’s no denying that football has a massive fanbase in the US. The NFL’s Super Bowl is the most-watched sports event each year in the country. The game’s popularity is a result of multiple factors, including tradition, entertainment value, athletic display, and many other reasons. On some levels, football is almost like pro wrestling (don’t tell football fans).
However, pro wrestling has been severely criticized in the past for being predetermined. Well, at one point during First Take’s latest edition, Paul Heyman joked that football is also scripted.
In addition, Heyman took a dig at Marcus Spears, pointing out that he had never won a Super Bowl. Spears played for nine seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. Anyway, Heyman was quick to take a shot at football when he was asked to contribute his opinion on the NFL.
The Super Bowl 2023 saw the AFC Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, clinch a thrilling 38-35 win against the NFC Champions, The Philadelphia Eagles. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes displayed his heroics, leading his team to a historic victory.

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns is gearing up to settle his feud with Jey Uso at SummerSlam. Last week’s edition of SmackDown saw Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa working in tandem to lay waste to Jey Uso. With SummerSlam right around the corner, we will have to wait and see if Jey Uso has a game plan to tackle the numbers game.
This wasn’t the first time that Paul Heyman took shots at the NFL. Back in February, The ECW veteran took to Twitter to publicly state that he doesn’t care much about the NFL and that it’s all rigged.
