Dwayne Johnson reached a milestone in his unfinished football dream, enhancing the business opportunities for his co-owned XFL. A week back, he alongside Dany Garcia officially announced that the USFL and XFL would operate together as the United Football League (UFL), which will kick off its inaugural season on March 30th following a lot of anticipation.
That said, DJ didn’t take this landmark step out of the blue. His immaculate business mind saw this as a great catch for more than one reason. During a detailed interview with the NFL Fox crew, The Great One spilled the beans behind the remarkable XFL feat.

The Rock is an ardent football fan. He would have been a footballer if his childhood dream had come true. But destiny played out differently.
But that doesn’t mean it killed the inner footballing spirit that Johnson possesses in his veins. He still has the same passion and vision for the game and is actively trying to give it shape through his XFL endeavor.
Revealing his mastermind theory behind the merger, The Rock noted, ‘I think in the UFL the kind of football you’re going to expect to see is I think these players are going to play hard-nosed intense football, passionate football and I think I look at it like this, so you guys are right now we have talked about this when Danny and I came out of college, the university of Miami, best school in the country’

However, The Rock reached this promising conclusion after experiencing an all-time low pertaining to the league
The Rock has come a long way with his XFL dream
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his business allies, Redbird Capital Partners, Garcia brought the XFL brand with a whopping 23.5 million from Vince McMahon back in August 2020 to revive the league from a potential bankruptcy situation.
This came as a result of Mr McMahon’s failed attempt to relaunch it amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Rock bought the XFL for $15 million.

Johnson turned into a guardian angel and the league resumed its season in February 2023. The journey wasn’t smooth entirely. The league recorded an enormous loss of $60 million in the year before Johnson spilled the big merger.
From this point, we can expect a solid bounce back for XFL as well as for the Spring Football.
