WWE has been releasing wrestlers like an unruly lawn mower for quite some time now. WWE has released both extras as well as prominent talents like Dolph Ziggler from its roster. Recently, another pair of wrestlers were let go after before their contracts expired earlier this month. But unlike many released talents, these two stars haven’t shied away from taking shots at WWE.

The Grizzled Young Veterans or The Dyad are the latest pair of wrestlers to exit WWE. While many wrestlers simply left the pro wrestling outfit, many were bitter words for the company. Walking the path of the latter group, the Dyad also said bitter things about WWE. In fact, according to a social media post, the wrestlers also had ill words for WWE’s current stars.

Former WWE stars criticizing the work of Triple H

The Grizzled Young Veterans was the tag team duo that consisted of James Drake and Zack Gibson. The pair had held the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team titles and also won the Progress Tag Team Championship thrice. They were then rechristened as The Dyad and renamed Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler respectively and paired with Joey Gacy, forming the stable The Schism. The duo unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT tag team titles.

Despite showing potential within the roles they were assigned, the duo still got guillotined from WWE. The future of any wrestler who is not very famous is often in jeopardy after such releases. 

The Grizzled Young Veterans were last seen with Joe Gacy and Ava Raine of The Schism after they lost to the Creed Brothers in a Steel Cage match.

While WWE did what it wanted to, the Grizzled Young Veterans followed suit and opened their mouths to say what they wanted to. A recently uploaded tweet by James Drake carried cold-hearted and bitter words for the company. 

In the promo cut by the two former WWE stars, Drake said, “You’ve got soulless wrestlers with heartless gimmicks. And then you’ve got the death of creativity.” These comments took a direct shot at the creative lead of WWE, Triple H.

The comments were also loaded with scorn for current WWE stars. While Drake and Gibson badmouthed the way Triple H ran things around, they also revealed that they didn’t like how their part was handled by him. In fact, the former NXT tag champs said they were sick of the way Triple H handled their roles.

The Grizzled Young Veterans leave no stone unturned

The Grizzled Young Veterans also said, “We took a look around and we said to ourselves, ‘If this is a big life, then we’re not looking to live it’. We are sick of taking the safe option, we are sick of reading the same old boring scripts that go absolutely nowhere.” 

The duo vented their disgust and frustration with the way WWE dealt with their characters. The words of Drake and Gibson also reflect that they felt stuck in the same loop with no character or career progression.
