Among the several families that have contributed to pro wrestling, the Anoa’i sit at the top of the mountain. Not just the number of performers who have emerged from it, the sheer impact they have had on sports entertainment, is arguably unparalleled. Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso are one among many to have laced up a pair of boots from the said lineage.

The wrestling community considers the twins to be one of the greatest tag teams in WWE’s history. The decorated twins are writing their own story by following in the footsteps of their father, and WWE legend Rikishi. While the Hall of Famer garnered massive reactions among the fans, his on-screen antics in the Attitude Era got his sons into trouble at school.

Long before The Usos set the pro wrestling world abuzz with their acrobatics and synchronization, they were battling taunts from peers at high school.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani ahead of their clash at Money In The Bank against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, The Usos revealed what it was like growing up as Rikishi’s sons. Jimmy said their peers would constantly roast them by poking fun at the 57-year-old’s attire.

They also revealed that Rikishi’s backstage segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin, where he ran over The Texas Rattlesnake, got them heat. “Hey, we used to get heat. One time when he ran over Stone Cold,” Jey Uso said. The older twin, Jimmy, added, “Oh, that’s when it got bad.”

The brothers said that their peers would complain that their father took out Austin. “Your dad ran over Stone Cold, dude,” Jey Uso said, recalling the comments from their classmates. The former tag team champions, however, said they found out later, referencing how it panned out between 1999 and 2000.

For the unversed, the said segment took place at Survivor Series 1999. After chasing behind Triple H, Stone Cold reached the parking lot, where he was run over by a car driven by an unknown assailant. This started a series of investigations against different stars, including Triple H.

However, the case took a turn on the October 9, 2000 episode of RAW. After Mick Foley charged The Rock with committing the crime and gaining advantage from it, it was Rikishi who confessed. He said he committed the nefarious act in support of The Rock and reiterated that he would do it again.

Meanwhile, the brothers have a special plan for their father and want to execute it in the future.

The Usos want a familial affair at WrestleMania

Nothing quite matches the aura of WrestleMania. It is the epitome of a wrestling extravaganza. Many pro wrestlers want to be a part of WWE’s marquee event. Some, though, have had the opportunity of main-eventing the show. Jimmy and Jey Uso were part of the main event on night one of WrestleMania 39. The brothers lost their belts but put on a stunning display.

Now, they have plans to fight with each other. They told Helwani that the thought had crossed their minds several times. The Usos also want their father to be a referee at the match.

Whether they get the WWE to commission that match is one for the future. For now, Jey Uso has a job in hand at punishing Roman Reigns, especially after his twin was taken out by Sikoa and Reigns at last week’s SmackDown.
