WWE’s Stance on Dwayne Johnson’s Speculated Return in Front of “50,000 Fans in Detroit” Revealed

SummerSlam is just around the corner. While predictions are underway for all the matchups, fans have started speculating on which of their favorite superstars would return at the biggest show of the summer. While there are significant names floating, the biggest name that has popped up is Dwayne Johnson.

Now in an explosive update, The Rock could be one surprise WWE has in store for SummerSlam. 

Is Dwayne Johnson appearing at SummerSlam?

While the Rock hasn’t made an appearance since 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SmackDown, the rumor mill always churns out intel whenever WWE hosts a major show.

Now, in a piece of blockbuster update by Ringside News, WWE might be keeping quiet about a return by The Great One.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio talks about how The Rock could come back to lay waste to Grayson Waller, who has been calling out The Rock on social media. 

He quoted: “I mean, he could do it. I don’t know if Dwayne Johnson will come back, but if he’s going to do it for something, it’s gonna be for 50,000 fans in Detroit, which is this show.”

Meltzer also spoke about the Hollywood strike, which could open doors for The Rock to have a one-off appearance.

If it happens, then fans in Detroit would bring the stadium down. The most electrifying man could just rain a parade on a list of superstars.

While Waller would make the most sense, fans are hoping for his return to eventually set up a match with Roman Reigns. 

A familiar affair could prove to be the most worthy storyline for The Rock

Several superstars over the last few months have called out The Rock. Grayson Waller constantly mocks and ridicules Johnson. The Brahma Bull might show up to put Waller in his place.

Even though that would be interesting, fans are clamoring for a dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns.

Last year, Reigns stated in multiple interviews that he would like to have a match with his cousin, at WrestleMania 39. The match, however, didn’t materialize, because of Johnson’s Hollywood commitments.

When asked again, for next year’s Mania, The Tribal Chief was still open to the match-up at WrestleMania 40. If the match does transpire, then it’ll be the biggest matchup in the history of WrestleMania. 

While one doesn’t know about Johnson’s availability for next year, fans are waiting for the foundation to be laid this year at SummerSlam in Detroit.
