WWE is always on the lookout for signing new talents. This is because you never know when you might come across “The Next Big Thing” in the promotion. However, the names that we have come across recently probably won’t be performing in the promotion anytime soon as they are a part of the NIL program that the company offers for top collegiate athletes.

Could we see the new signees in WWE soon?

For now, the athletes are in college, living through an important phase in their academic and personal lives. To make better use of their ‘Name, Image, and Likeness’, WWE has a program for such athletes called ‘Next In Line’. According to the leading wrestling company, they have signed with athletes across 60 colleges in the USA since 2021.

Since one NIL program involving 14 athletes cannot fulfil the needs of all the budding talent in the whole country, there are more programs offered by other companies and brands. Dwayne Johnson‘s program is another popular example to look at.

Just like WWE, Dwayne Johnson also helps out other athletes to benefit from their NIL

This year, “The Rock” inaugurated the NIL program for his ZOA energy drink. The program is called ‘The Rock’s Warriors’. Considering the big brand that Johnson is today, this program will help all the athletes he has accepted into the program.

The inaugural group includes two athletes from college basketball, Angel Reese (Louisiana State University) and Hansel Emanuel (Austin Peay State University), one athlete from college softball, Amaya Gainer (Florida A&M), and four athletes from college football, Brock Bowers (University of Georgia), Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State University), Drake Maye (University of North Carolina), and Kam Kinchens (University of Miami).

So, even though Johnson hasn’t been doing it as long as the Stamford-based company, he is trying his best to catch up and give these collegiate athletes the recognition and profit they should be reaping.
