If someone asks wrestling fans ‘what’s the most popular era of WWE’, then the only answer that comes to their mind is the ‘Attitude Era’. The era that glued the fans to their seats and TV sets. The era that turned the fate of WWE. And, the era that gave the wrestling industry, some of the greatest stars of all time.

One thing that the Attitude Era was particularly famous for, was its explicit content. Several stars in that era indulged themselves in that kind of storyline. However, there was a popular superstar at that time, who completely despised getting indulged in the explicit storylines. The superstar was none other than Stone Cold ‘Steve Austin’.

A few years ago, the former wrestling booker Bruce Prichard revealed the aspect of the Attitude Era that Stone Cold hated. In the 133rd episode of his podcast, ‘Something to Wrestle’, Prichard discussed Austin’s interview where he claimed not to like the sexual stuff of Attitude Era

Pichard agreed with his claims and said that Austin really didn’t like the sexual content in WWE. He even mentioned that the WWE legend had no problem with cursing and drinking on screen but when it comes to the sensitive content, he always made sure to tell everyone that he was not okay with that.

Talking about Steve Austin, Pichard said, “Well that was Steve and he did and he made it known. Steve did…Steve didn’t like the sexual content on the show at all and he let it be known…….. But it’s funny he was…..he was fine with his cursing and drinking beer and all his sh*t. But that was a human being Steve.”

The reason why Bruce Prichard got amazed by Austin’s words is because of the professional wrestling persona that Steve Austin used to have during his prime.

Steve Austin was always regarded as one of the most influential wrestlers in the history of WWE. In the late 90s, he wrestled as a brawler in WWE. Almost every superstar with that persona got engaged in some kind of explicit content in the company during the Attitude Era. But Austin was rarely seen doing that. And the reason became pretty clear after his retirement.

Last time, WWE Universe saw Steve Austin competing inside the ring at WrestleMania 38. At that time, Austin wrestled after 19 years but still managed to shock his competitor, Kevin Owens with his skills.

In the late 90s, Steve Austin was almost every fan’s favorite. The moment he used to appear on screen, the fans used to forget everything else. With his in-ring character, it is hard to believe that he always hated the sexual content in the WWE. But as Prichard said, outside the ring, Steve Austin was just a normal human being.
