Last year, Steve Austin rejected quite a few WrestleMania ideas pitched to him. But fortunately, unlike this year, he ended up saying yes to fighting KO. After almost 19 years, he returned to the ring and defeated Owens in a No Holds Barred Match at The Showcase of Immortals.

That being said, FightFul Select has reported that to prepare The Texas RattleSnake for his battle, Vince McMahon asked Drew Gulak to train him. The eight-time WWE 24/7 Champion is an NXT star who has a training reputation that speaks for itself.

According to Fightful reports, McMahon brought Gulak himself to Austin’s Texas Ranch, where the wrestling trainer helped the 3:16 star get ready for WrestleMania. They ran drills together and even called out spots. In addition, their intense training also resulted in having a long bout on the ranch itself, which drained them physically.

However, it is also reported that The Evil Genius reportedly had an ulterior motive for booking the 35-year-old NXT star as a trainer for WrestleMania.

Drew Gulak also helped Vince McMahon to get in shape for his WrestleMania moment

Fightful reports mentioned The Diabolical Owner of WWE was also planning for his own WrestleMania match. Therefore, McMahon hired the former Cruiserweight Champion as a trainer for himself as well as The Texas Rattlesnake.

Last year, the WWE Universe also saw Mr. McMahon defeat Pat McAfee in a match that took place immediately after the latter defeated the former’s protégé, Austin Theory. The Boss came out victorious from his match against McAfee, all thanks to Theory, who attacked the NFL star before the match began.

Later, the crowd of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas saw Stone Cold come out and deliver a stunner on A-Town Down. The segment followed with him sharing beers with McMahon, who also became the recipient of a stunner.

The main event of Night 1 WrestleMania ended with the 58-year-old legend hitting a stunner to McAfee. It happened a few moments after he celebrated the night with him.

On a side note, Charlotte Flair embarrassed Gulak last year in an episode of SmackDown. When The Queen lost her Beat the Clock “I Quit” Challenge to Ronda Rousey, she took out her frustration on the 6’1 NXT star. He was the bell ringer for the match.
