The winner of the men’s Elimination Chamber 2024 will see himself go up against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 a couple of months down the road. All the contenders are strong, making the victory prediction all the more difficult. Although there are no such rumors about who will stand victorious out of the six opponents in WWE Chambers in a few hours, we do have the original plans for the same.

The new issue of Dave Meltzer’s WON gave pro wrestling fans insight into what could have been the creative situation in WWE currently if things hadn’t changed around. While the industry insider reported about Cody Rhodes‘ ‘finish the story’ debate among the fans and how WWE changed its decision, he also revealed that Seth Rollins wasn’t supposed to fight any of the current Elimination Chamber contenders.
This year’s Royal Rumble saw The American Nightmare and CM Punk facing each other for the winning spot as they were the last contenders left in the ring. Although the latter ended up losing the event, the story was being set up toward Punk, challenging his long-running real-life rival, Seth Rollins.
Reports from the 26th February issue of WON reveal that WWE was originally picking CM Punk to be the Elimination Chamber winner for this year. This would have given him the match opportunity against Seth Rollins that he missed at Royal Rumble.
Unfortunately, due to the injury that the former UFC fighter endured at RR ’24, WWE had to change its creative direction.
Recently, “The Best in the World” also gave a small update to his fans who were waiting to hear about his injury recovery.

Seth Rollins might need to start counting his days
At WrestleMania 40, there is a chance that The Aerialist may lose his WHC. However, CM Punk is confident that WWE has planned something big for him. The Chicago-based wrestler was at UFC 298 a few days ago and featured in a brief interview with TNT Sports.
While talking, he gave an update on his tricep and also confessed that it is more difficult to deal with an injury mentally than it is physically. But Punk just sees it as a bump in the road and believes he will come back “bigger and better“.
