The September 25 episode of RAW emanated from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The flagship brand had several important matches and announcements. Some of them hold significance in the near future, especially the upcoming PLE- Fastlane.
One of the main announcements that was made was the stipulation for the bout between Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura. The Visionary and The King of Strong Style will lock horns at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 7. Here’s the entire round-up of RAW September 25, 2023.

The main event of the night featured the tag teams of Finn Balor and Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The Canadian duo fought The Judgment Day members in the hope of getting back their Undisputed WWE Tag Team belts. They had succumbed to defeat to the heel faction and lost their titles at Payback on September 2.
While they were unsuccessful in their attempts, the match saw several members of the roster getting involved. The Judgment Day had help from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, while Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes helped the challengers. A cheap shot from McDonagh allowed Priest to pin Zayn for the win. Following that, a melee ensued as all eight started trading blows, forcing security and officials to intervene.
Shinsuke Nakamura to test Seth Rollins’ endurance
Last week, The Monday Night Messiah had challenged Nakamura to a fight, urging the Japanese wrestler to name the condition. While Nakamura did not appear in person, a pre-taped video revealed that the stipulation chosen by him was the infamous Last Man Standing match.
Nakamura has openly spoken about his desire to expose Rollins’ damaged back, humiliating him during their bout. The stipulation seems to have been chosen to aid his plan. Rollins, who has been on a title defense spree, has agreed to it.
John Cena to go handicap at Fastlane
The other match to have been sanctioned for Fastlane is a two-against-one handicap match featuring John Cena. The 16-time world champion will have a handicapped match at Fastlane against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline.
Becky Lynch teases new opponent
WWE superstar Becky Lynch is likely following the blueprint set up by her significant other- Seth Rollins. Much like the World Heavyweight Champion, the Irish fighter, too, has urged a peer to challenge her for the NXT Women’s Championship, which she currently possesses.
If everything goes according to plan, Tegan Nox will face Becky Lynch in a title bout after NXT No Mercy.
Dominik Mysterio humiliates father Rey Mysterio yet again
In a significant development, The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio managed to defend his NXT North American Championship against Dragon Lee. Lee, who had his first match on the main roster, enthralled the spectators with his high-flying moves, but it wasn’t enough to strip Dirty Dom off of his gold. By virtue of his win, Dom Dom has now managed to have a title defense twice- the most for an NXT belt on RAW. He also became the sixth wrestler to defend an NXT championship on the flagship brand.
Apart from that, Dominik Mysterio also managed to get even with his father and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, who had hailed Lee as the future of Lucha Libre, snubbing his own son.
Bronson Reed overcomes 330-pounder opponent
We also saw Bronson Reed take on Alpha Academy’s Otis. The two heavy men offered plenty of action, but the Aussie superstar had the last laugh. Otis, accompanied by Maxxine, would like to reverse the result when they meet next.

The Miz hosts Drew McIntyre
The Miz played host to Drew McIntyre on his Miz TV show. It ended with a bout between Kofi Kingston and The Scottish Warrior. Meanwhile, Ivar of The Viking Raiders attacked Kingston’s New Day partner, Xavier Woods, during the course of the match. The distraction was enough for McIntyre to score the win over Kingston.
Nia Jax teases new feud
Nia Jax made her presence felt once again. For the past few weeks, the former RAW Women’s Champion has been terrorizing the women’s division with her brute strength. She has already injured Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez and has been threatened with consequences by another 32-year-old superstar, but despite that, Dwayne Johnson’s cousin couldn’t stop gushing about her recent achievements. However, Zoey Stark interrupted her and then went on to challenge her.
In the ensuing bout, Stark succumbed to defeat at the hands of the senior pro. However, all signs indicate it could have been the start of a new feud between the two. We’ll have to wait for future episodes to know more about it.
Cody Rhodes cuts an intriguing promo
The episode opened with Cody Rhodes cutting an interesting promo. The American Nightmare finally addressed the Jey Uso issue, which has earned him heat from the RAW locker room. Rhodes said that someone has to be traded to SmackDown as a barter for Jey Uso. While he didn’t say who, The Prince of Pro Wrestling said that this wasn’t the third inning anymore, trolling Paul Heyman. The 58-year-old WWE legend had said that The Bloodline was in the third innings when answering a question from journalists following SummerSlam in August. The hints, however, were clear that Rhodes is likely to jump brand and go after Reigns once more, in order to finish his story.

Meanwhile, The Judgment Day, sans Ripley, interrupted Rhodes during his promo, which resulted in the trio slowly stalking Rhodes. However, their plan was foiled as Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens came to his rescue. Even though JD McDonagh came out with a couple of chairs, rendering balance to The Judgment Day, Rhodes and his team quickly neutralized them, forcing a retaliation.

It also led to an angry Priest warning McDonagh to stay away from his stable, causing tension between the tag team champions.
