The Royal Rumble 2024 may have been memorable because of Cody Rhodes taking another step towards completing his story, but what might have gone under the scanner was a certain wrestler’s return.

Andrade El Idolo returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble, making the highly speculated move from AEW after becoming a major player in Tony Khan’s company.

The man known as “El Idolo” was definitely one for the future during his initial WWE run, where he won championships such as the NXT Title and even the United States Championship but departed the company in 2021 following frustrations with creative.

His arrival in AEW made waves all over the world but with his real-life beau Charlotte Flair still in WWE, there was always a feeling he would return to the company.

That finally happened at the Rumble, but Andrade surprisingly chose to sign with the Raw brand on the 01/29 episode where he appeared backstage with Raw GM Adam Pearce and signed on the dotted line.

Despite an appearance by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, the decision was made, and Andrade El Idolo will now feature on the red brand every Monday night and possibly set his sights on the gold that he could attain.
