Top NXT star, Bron Breakker, was on the cusp of his WWE main roster promotion after having a decorated NXT run for the last 2 years. The two times NXT champion was largely expected to receive a major push from the company after WrestleMania 39. However, this possibility is likely to face interruption, following his father, Rick Steiner’s recent wrestle-con ban.

The Rookie of the Year possesses wrestling in his blood with his father being a WWE Hall of Famer and his uncle, Scott Steiner, being a popular pro wrestler. After a brief NFL run, the 25-year-old followed his ancestor’s footsteps, joining the Stamford-based company in 2021. He didn’t take long to rise to the top, defeating a bunch of talented wrestlers like Tomasso Ciampa, Apollo Crews, JD McDonagh, and a few more on his way.

The former NFL player recently faced defeat against Carmelo Hayes during the NXT Stand and Deliver event. After his loss, it seemed like a big main roster push at this very moment of his career can do wonders for him. Also, referring to Vince McMahon‘s usual practices, the idea didn’t seem impossible unless and until Jim Cornette pointed out a valid red flag.

Bron Breakker’s legendary father Rick Steiner reportedly received a ban from the Wrestlecon convention for his hateful comment on Impact Wrestling star Gisele Shaw.

Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette believes this controversial deed will certainly affect his son’s career as well. Speaking to his official Jim Cornette YouTube channel, he noted, ‘Bron Breakker is probably not ready for that spot yet, especially after this weekend.

The host seconded him, saying, ‘I was about to say and possibly never shall be these days unless he changes his name to Finkelstein or something.

However, Bron Breakker’s in-ring name has some interesting background story involved.

Bron Breakker reveals where his last name came from

Breakker didn’t kick-start his wrestling career with his original last name. The former NXT champion previously reflected on his thoughts behind using a different last name than the one which holds a certain family legacy with it. Breakker clarified that he was very mean in the NFL field. He was widely known for breaking his opponent in half whenever performing a block in the field. From this “breaking his opponent” concept, the name Breakker popped into his head. The promising NXT star also clarified that it was solely his idea to carry a different last name in the ring.
