The Attitude Era saw Vince McMahon become a star as a WWE talent too. His rivalry with Stone Cold Steve Austin is evergreen and will never be forgotten. Recently, a WWE legend shared the reason why the McMahon- Austin rivalry during the Attitude Era is the greatest of all time.

The voice of professional wrestling Jim Ross is the closest person to witness Austin and McMahon’s rivalry. He knew how well they prepared to present this masterpiece feud to the world. 

Jim Ross shares details behind Vince McMahon Stone Cold’s rivalry

In the recent episode of Grilling Jr., Jim Ross recalled how McMahon and ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ prepared for their segment back in the day. 

Ross said, “They had, they always had good chemistry. I don’t recall those guys spending hours before show going over their sh*t. They kind of knew where they were headed and then they had lived a vast majority of it. And they had an outline, but they had great chemistry and they had a feel for their angle. So it worked out real well, I thought it was and the booking on this date, perfect.”

The AEW commentator added he had an idea WWE could do better in ratings if the McMahon-Austin feud took off. He stated, “We needed it wasn’t like, well, we can overtake them in a radius. And we do this that was never discussed in my presence. But we all had a feeling that we got a chance. If we pull this thing off, we got a chance to increase our ratings, and maybe even exceed the competition.”

It doesn’t need any explanation of how good chemistry they both had. Furthermore, it was Austin with whom Vinnie-Mac got to fulfill his dream of wrestling in a match

Clearly, the Austin-McMahon feud will always be a memorable part of WWE folklore. They made the Attitude Era memorable with some exciting promos, and segments and also getting physical on each other several times.

JR gives his thoughts on McMahon’s wrestling

Back in the late 90s, Vince McMahon wore a pair of wrestling boots at an age when most wrestlers plan to retire. However, the former CEO of WWE surprised everyone with his in-ring skills and physique.

Ross said recalled they never thought McMahon could pull off the match, but it even surprised him. He shared that Austin and McMahon’s perfect chemistry was the reason they had classics back in the day.
