WWE Legend Labels Dominik Mysterio as “A Great Kid” Despite Being an “A**hole” in the Ring

Dominik Mysterio has risen to be a popular heel among fans in recent times. And just like with every other heel, fans wonder whether the young star is a villain in real life too. To answer this question, Ariel Helwani called upon his show, someone who can confess the truth from the deepest of experiences. And who could do this job better than Dominik’s own family?

So, Rey Mysterio was there to expose how his son behaves outside the ring. Since Helwani had met the junior Mysterio in person before, he already had opinions about him. But as a reporter, he wanted to be thorough with knowing Dom’s character, hence; he asked his father how he behaves outside the professional circle.

Dominik Mysterio gets exposed outside the ring

Several fans question Dirty Dom’s moral character because of the choices he makes in WWE. Siding with a heel faction had its repercussions. However, Rey Mysterio has finally exposed the untold part of Dominik’s life in front of the whole WWE Universe.

At first, during The MMA Hour‘s latest episode, Helwani mentioned how he finds Dominik to be a ‘sweetheart’. His experience tells him that wrestling heels are often the ‘nicest’ people in real life. Assuming the same about Rey’s son, he finally asked the question.

The Mexican luchador began by putting out a fact, “Kids are always great and behave proper, outside the house. But at home, they’re a**holes with mom, with dad, with sisters; and that’s how Dom is.” The WWE Hall of Famer added some positivity by saying, “He learned and he knows what he needs to do. He knows how to behave. And overall, even outside of the locker room, you know, meeting other people, he’s just genuinely a great kid.”

After a good reality check, the legend told Helwani that Dominik’s upbringing with Rey Mysterio and his pro wrestler friends taught him how to behave properly around people, making him the ‘great kid’ that he is.

This is also not the first time that Rey dialed down his kayfabe hate for his kid and let his fatherly love shine through. Such a moment was publicly caught when his son secured his first-ever singles championship.

Dominik Mysterio made his father proud

The 26-year-old WWE talent appeared on NXT a few months ago to defeat Wes Lee and win the NXT North American Championship. This was a colossal achievement for the Judgment Day member. So, naturally, he went on to boast about it on social media.

Soon after this picture was uploaded on his official Instagram account, Rey Mysterio and his wife liked the post. This showed the world that even though they might not be on the best of terms inside the ring, they still love and care for each other like any healthy family.
