At Night of Champions 2023 in Jeddah, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins defeated AJ Styles to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. After carrying the company for the past few years, Rollins was handed what he was deserving of for a long time. However, soon after the win, he got involved in a heated feud with The Judgment Day. On the RAW after Night of Champions, he would get involved in a match against Damien Priest, and Finn Balor with Rhea Ripley at ringside.

As the match progressed last week, it saw an iconic moment recreated. Rollins and Ripley would engage in an iconic vintage moment from The Ruthless Aggression era that saw something similar take place between Shawn Michaels and Melina. And soon after that, WWE legend Mick Foley had a say about Melina’s stardom back in her days.

What did Mick Foley claim about Former Women’s Champion Melina?

Speaking on his podcast, WWE legend Mick Foley would open up on Melina’s career, and if WWE was able to take full advantage of her potential in the company. Melina was one of the most promising wrestlers on the roster and is a 3-times WWE Divas Champion, and 2-times WWE Women’s Champion.

Foley claimed, “I thought she had that real star quality. I don’t think WWE ever really took full advantage of it.” Mick Foley spoke highly about the former WWE Women’s Champion and praised her career with John Morrison, as well as her time in WWE.

Melina had a terrific career during her early days in WWE and was almost always involved in high-profile feuds. However, her later days saw her take on a more putting-over other superstars kind of role. She would eventually leave WWE to try her hands at other promotions.

Melina last returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble but was eliminated by Sasha Banks. She currently wrestles on the independent circuit.

At the 2006 WWE Survivor Series, Shawn Michaels was involved in a hilarious moment with Melina, who was a manager to Johnny Nitro aka John Morrison. Nitro was on the opposing team, as the match progressed, a moment came when Michaels would slide out of the ring to pose with Melina. However, after the 44-year-old realized whose hands were on her shoulder, she would be shocked. And similarly, last week, the WWE Universe would witness Seth Rollins do something similar with Rhea Ripley.

This left the fans in splits and had Rhea Ripley almost breaking character. It was one of those iconic moments that WWE recreated and received an immensely positive reaction from the fans. Both Rollins and Ripley are two of the most over WWE superstars currently.
