Jim Duggan is one of the oldest wrestlers in the industry, having been in the pro wrestling business for over 40 years. He is known for his gimmick of carrying the American Flag and a two-by-four while making his way to the ring. He was with the WWE from 1987 to 1993 and holds the honor of being the winner of the first-ever Royal Rumble that took place in 1988.

After leaving the WWE, he joined WCW and was with them till 2001. He then returned to the WWE twice, once in 2005 and then later in 2011 for a stint of just a couple of years. He was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2011. Post that, the legend has been wrestling sporadically on the independent circuit and making appearances at events. In one such appearance on Friday, Duggan was being honored by the Glens Falls Firefighters Association. But he had to be suddenly rushed to the hospital.

Then, in 2021, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and had his prostate removed in October 2021. But the cancer returned in March and after undergoing 8 weeks of radiation treatment, he was cancer-free.
