Wrestling Legend Hails WWE for Seemingly Breaking Open the ‘Forbidden Door’ With TNA After Vince McMahon’s Resignation

Kurt Angle has etched his name in the annals of wrestling folklore for his immaculate legacy and impact. The pro wrestling legend had a successful career spanning more than 20 years, making it big in companies like WWE and TNA.

In fact, Kurt Angle is one of the most important legends in TNA history. Over his ten years with the company, the wrestler won the World Championship on six different occasions. Moreover, in 2013, Angle became the promotion’s second Hall of Famer. So there is no doubt that he loved it when TNA knockout’s champion, Jordynne Grace, appeared as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. The WWE legend did not shy away from sharing his thoughts on the same on social media.

The 2024 Royal Rumble PLE had some amazing surprises up its sleeves. While some were a bit expected, like the debut of Jade Cargill as an entrant, others came as a legit surprise. The arrival of Naomi emerged as a genuine shock for the wrestling community. However, no one was prepared for what was to come as TNA knockout’s champion, Jordynne Grace, entered the Rumble. Fans went berserk, and so did Angle as he shared his thoughts on X. He wrote, “How awesome was it to see TNA in the WWE building? That’s why you never say never in the business. Pretty damn cool #itsdamnreal”

However, this crossover holds significant precedent when another female superstar crossed over to WWE. Two years ago, veteran superstar Mickie James made history by entering the women’s Royal Rumble as the IMPACT Knockouts Champion. Despite being a talent under contract with IMPACT, WWE made sure to make the impossible possible. Triple H managed to pull it off again this year as well.

Coming in at number 5, Grace squared off against WWE stars such as Ivy Nile and her former TNA rival Trinity Fatu, better known as Naomi in WWE, whom the 27-year-old defeated for the Knockouts title at Hard To Kill a few weeks ago.

After almost 20 minutes in the fight, Grace clashed with Bianca Belair. After a brief exchange of blows that nearly saw both women eliminated, the two faced each other on the edge of the ring. Belair ended up putting Grace on his shoulders, hitting her with the KOD on the edge of the ring. This caused Grace to fall to the ground, ending her short but memorable WWE debut.
