Whether you are an anime fan or not, the medium has endured a positive momentum for a long while now. With the craze for animated media continuing to grow more popular, producers are not far behind the idea of stacking money by bringing more live-action renditions of popular franchises.

‘My Hero Academia’, which began as a Japanese manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi, gained popularity under the production of Bones. 6 seasons have aired in the anime and garnered worldwide acclaim. A seventh season (most possibly the final) is currently making up hype and speculation among fans about the potential release date. However, it is now on the verge of getting a live-action movie adaptation too. And guess what? the proposed cast’s names might knock your socks off.

It wasn’t too long ago that My Hero Academia was optioned for a live-action film. But the project didn’t materialize because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Legendary Entertainment is finally gearing up to bring the characters to life on the big screen. The director’s name has already been announced. He is none other than Shinsuke Sato.

Fans naturally have been on a hunt for talent and actively voicing their cast choices. But according to the legendary All Might’s voice Chris Sabat, the movie might record a soaring success if €800 million Hollywood hunk Dwayne Johnson and another €500 million Hollywood A liner, George Clooney team up to play All Might, the mightiest character in the story.

Back in 2020, the voice actor of the English dubbed animated version unleashed his dream casting in live action. Sabat noted, “I would love to see a combination of George Clooney and The Rock. Like, The Rock dubbed over by George Clooney. Some kind of a weird combination of the both of them,”.

His suggestion made sense as The Rock’s magnificent giant physique of 270 lbs billed weight and 6 ft 5 inches height can truly match All Might’s incredible size. Also, he could break the villainous ‘Black Adam’ cocoon by placing himself in the shoes of the inspirational character as well. On top of it, DJ and Clooney’s unified star powers and screen presence will indeed be a game changer.

Now, only time will say how Johnson will pull off the ‘Symbol of Peace’ if he stars in the movie at all.

But what is a realistic timeline for the movie to hit the big screens?

When could the My Hero Academia live-action adaption hit theaters?

After several delays, reports of Shinsuke Sari’s appointment to helm the project indicated the movie is gaining traction. That said, there is no word on the official release date so far. But there are hints that you can pick up for rough guesswork. For example, if we look at the timeline of a live-action film like ‘Pokemon: Detective Pikachu’, another giant project by Legendary, we can have an idea about the release.

The aforementioned movie took three years to hit the theater since being announced in 2016. However, since casting has not yet begun chances of a release this year is low. A possible hyped release for next year could appear to be a likelier possibility.
