Without Even Stepping in the Ring at AEW Collision, CM Punk Has Reportedly Landed Tony Khan in Trouble Again With His Latest Interview

It’s not new to see wrestlers feuding in real life with their colleagues. Conflicting ideas and personalities produce clashes that we see now and then. These conflicts often develop into bigger rivalries and tend to become problematic for everyone in the company. One such example is CM Punk‘s ongoing issues with AEW. The months-old feud was believed to have been resolved.

What is the current status between CM Punk and AEW?

Some of you must already be aware of Punk’s situation with AEW. Following his brawl with the EVPs of the company, both parties were suspended. However, Punk was only recently called back to action when President Tony Khan announced his ultimate return at AEW Collision on June 17th. This excited several fans. But it appears that the issue that made Punk sit at home all these months has not yet been sorted.

According to recent reports, ESPN called CM Punk for an interview. The focus of the interview was mainly on his near future in the industry. However, it soon took a U-turn when the former UFC fighter started talking about The Elite. WON reports that some of Punk’s words leaked out even before the interview has been out and it’s upsetting people working at AEW. So, before even stepping back into the ring, the ex-WWE star might have raised more problems for both Tony Khan and himself.

CM Punk’s feud with AEW’s EVPs

The conflict seems to be coming, circling back. This is because Punk first started the feud with an interview. During  AEW All Out media scrum in 2022, Punk sat down and criticized the management of AEW. He particularly focused on how the EVPs don’t execute their roles well. The Elite didn’t like what Punk had to say about them. This erupted into a backstage brawl between Punk and The Elite. To save the image of the company, Tony Khan had to suspend both parties from in-ring action.

Punk’s story received criticism from some stars. Some even supported him while criticizing the EVPs. Things seemed cool when Khan announced Punk’s return to AEW TV after months of absence. He was also reportedly given ‘creative powers’ for AEW Collision. However, the latest reports suggest some setbacks in the development.
