A big part of the WWE Universe was disappointed when CM Punk lost the Royal Rumble to Cody Rhodes. The Punk versus Seth Rollins fight was something everyone was looking forward to. While many such fans were fuming on social media because of this, the mood has changed due to the injury report of Punk

This has thrown another major question in the air. While Cody Rhodes will be challenging Roman Reigns for his title, who will be challenging Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship? Here is our take on what can happen and who can step up to take on The Architect at WrestleMania 40.

Barring Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, the most formidable wrestler in the WWE locker room right now is Gunther. The Ring General is making history with each passing day by extending his record as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion. Moreover, unlike Roman Reigns, he isn’t an absentee champion either and regularly defeats his challengers.

Despite this, the leader of Imperium isn’t satisfied with his achievement and is hungry for more. Notably, Gunther was one of the final four fighters in this year’s Royal Rumble. This clearly shows the faith the WWE has in their champion to elevate others around him and impose himself as a credible threat.

While The Ring General is a worthy contender for the World Heavyweight title, two more fighters are after the belt of Seth Rollins. These two men have showcased their intentions via both words and actions.

Seth Rollins could engage in a Triple Threat match against McIntyre and Zayn

The Scottish powerhouse has been trying to win a WWE title for a very long time and has his horns locked on Seth Rollins. But, another WWE Superstar is right at the heel of McIntyre.

Not a long while ago, Sami Zayn announced that he was aiming for the belt on the waist of Seth Rollins. This happened right after his tag team partner, Kevin Owens was moved from Raw to SmackDown. Moreover, Zayn has been a crowd-favorite throughout his latest stint in the promotion be it in SmackDown or Raw.

Although both these superstars want a title shot against Seth Rollins, nobody has a clear claim over the other. Considering that even Roman Reigns was in a Fatal Four-Way recently, Rollins may enter a Triple Threat with them. Did you have these wrestlers on your list as a replacement for Punk as well? Let your thoughts flow in the comments.
