As a wrestling fan, one cannot think about the WWE without the name Vincent Kennedy McMahon. The son of the man who started it all, Vincent J. McMahon, would go on to make the WWE what it is today, a global phenomenon. However, in 2023, he merged the WWE with the UFC, creating the TKO Group Holdings company, where he is the current Executive Chairman. So, what is his role in the WWE now?

Mr. No-Chance-McMahon is an icon in the WWE for having portrayed one of the best heels the company has ever seen. He got his whole McMahon family involved in the business in this role.

In 1980, McMahon founded the company Titan Sports, which he ran with his wife Linda. She served as the co-Chief Executive while McMahon was the Chairman. Using the company, he purchased the WWE, which was named CWC at the time, from his father in 1982.

This started the reign of McMahon in the WWE. In 2022, pending an internal investigation, McMahon stepped down as the CEO of the WWE. However, he continued to oversee creative decisions. On July 22, 2022, he announced his retirement from the WWE. In January 2023, he reappointed himself as the Executive Chairman of the WWE before taking up the same designation in the TKO Group Holdings company.

Now, as the executive chairman of the TKO group, Triple H has taken over as the creative head of the WWE. Despite Hunter leading the WWE in the right direction, McMahon returned to the spotlight after putting up $700 million in TKO stocks for sale.

This move resulted in fans asking what McMahon was doing. Sources within the WWE suggested that McMahon had no intention of leaving the WWE. In fact, McMahon needed the money liquid, which resulted in him selling the stocks. Despite Hunter being in control of the WWE, McMahon still runs the show. McMahon will be eager to usher in a new era for WWE as he works in tandem with some eminent personalities, some who were even rivals in the past. One such former nemesis and current colleague disclosed his thoughts on working with the noted WWE figure.

Dana White opens up on working with McMahon as a partner

Despite the UFC and WWE merging, the two still remain separate entities. While Hunter oversees the WWE, Dana White handles the UFC. Vince McMahon never had the best relationship with White before the merger. Oftentimes they found themselves at odds and McMahon used his business savvy to overcome the competition that made waves in the 2000s. However, things seem to have changed with dynamics between the duo much more at ease.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the UFC’s CEO said, “We didn’t have a great history before this. Now that we’re partners. Vince could not be a better partner.” This line showed that the issues between both men had been laid to rest.
