Sasha Banks, like a few other wrestlers, had to leave WWE because of some internal problems. However, everything seemed off, since the wrestler was already reigning as a WWE champion. This points toward a possibility that something between Banks and WWE must have not fit right at all. While internal conflicts are inevitable, Banks’ differences with the WWE management took a huge toll on her and she decided couldn’t find a middle ground.

Following this feud, Banks eventually left the promotion to find her own path in the wrestling world. She stumbled upon NJPW during her journey and she appears to be sticking to it as one of the top stars in the promotion. But what exactly forced her out of WWE in the first place, despite being the reigning champion at the time?

The real reason why Sasha Banks left WWE as a champion

Banks served in WWE as a tag-team wrestler for a long time. Even in 2022, before she left the promotion, she shared the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Naomi. Despite this achievement, Banks left behind WWE because she wanted to become more than just a tag wrestler. As a talented wrestler, she believed she deserved the same recognition as all the other horsewomen in the promotion.

So, we can say that part of the reason behind her departure from the Stamford-based company was that she wanted more individual-oriented storylines. Moreover, internal reports suggested that the wrestler also expected to receive a similar pay to that of the other horsewomen of WWE. This led to a truffle between her and the management backstage. This suggests that while Banks believed WWE should give her what she deserved, the company refused to negotiate. In turn, she ultimately walked out of the show along with her tag-team partner.

This led to the wrestling promotion suspending her and Naomi from the company. While the two didn’t appear for a long time in any other promotion, Banks made her comeback this year as ‘Mercedes Mone’ at NJPW. Because of her character development as a solo wrestler, Triple H might try out his luck to invite her back over to WWE.

What does Triple H need to do to get Sasha Banks back at WWE?

Mercedes Mone’s ship might have sailed long ahead of WWE. However, there still could be ways to get the wrestler back to the promotion. Since Banks gained most of her popularity from this company, her inclination to rejoin the promotion can be incentivized. However, in order to get her to do so, Hunter must be ready to accept her terms and conditions.

First and foremost, Mercedes Mone is now a solo wrestler. Even though there is a possibility that she might agree to get back into the tag-team division, the wrestler would likely stand firm on the grounds that forced her to leave the company in the first place. If Paul Levesque gets that cleared off, she would probably also need a similar pay to other top female wrestlers in the company.

Since both these demands were the primary reason for conflict, there might not be much middle ground for the parties to stand on unless they settle this.

But before fans can force all of their hopes on Levesque’s negotiation abilities, they must also note that rumors suggest Banks might have already made up her mind to return to WWE. Even though the idea seems a bit far-fetched at the moment, Banks’ words may support the wild speculations that have been going on among fans.

Is Sasha Banks about to make her WWE return soon?

Bayley is another horsewoman of WWE who is still around in the company, unlike Mone. In 2015, the two even fought a match inside the squared circle. Even though the rivalry didn’t last long, several fans must still remember their iconic match together. When the memory resurfaced, Banks couldn’t help but share it with her fans. Taking to Twitter, she posted a picture of her and Bayley hugging each other following their 2015 match.

Along with the emotional picture, she wrote, “Let’s do this again someday,” while tagging Bayley in the post. To the post, Bayley replied, “Happy 8th“, throwing back to the 8th anniversary of their match.

Among the truffle that Banks had with WWE’s management and her already ongoing career at NJPW, this little nod could indicate that she might be looking forward to coming back after all.
