Logan Paul is at the top of his game right now as far as pro wrestling is concerned. He won his first-ever WWE Championship in just his 8th match with the promotion, a commendable feat for any newcomer athlete. But being The Maverick, he didn’t stop there. After winning the United States Championship, he posted a series of pics with the title, one of which was an NSFW picture that got a lot of unnecessary attention.

But all this is definitely working in the favor of the WWE who are looking to cash in on Paul’s social media fame.

WWE is constantly trying to reach a wider audience ever since Vince McMahon took over the company some 40 years ago. His ruthless aggression and business acumen have made the WWE into a global brand today. So much so that many WWE wrestlers like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena and Batista now have successful Hollywood careers thanks to their WWE fame.

WWE very well cashes in on the fame of these Hollywood juggernauts as it did with Dwayne Johnson and John Cena during the Hollywood actor’s strike. And now WWE is using social media sensation Logan Paul to achieve the same result. But this time with a much younger audience that Paul usually caters to. A recent gimmick, where Paul put out a a saucy pic of him taking a shower with the United States Championship got him and the WWE a lot of eyeballs on the internet.

Something which was only possible because of Logan Paul’s international social media fame. He even made an appearance at the recent UFC 295 event with his United States Championship belt. Thus helping the WWE reach a broader audience, which will help garner more interest in the brand among these young social media fans.

In the meantime, Logan Paul is not the first WWE star to put out such a racy picture with a WWE Championship belt.

WWE Hall Of Famer and Mandy Rose have put out similar titillating pics with their WWE Championships

Logan Paul’s NSFW pics are definitely a WWE gimmick as this has been done in the past. And Paul might have actually taken some inspiration from a WWE legend in doing so.

This happened in 1996 when Shawn Michaels became the first WWE wrestler to pose for Playgirl magazine during his run as the WWE Champion. Michaels ended up getting a lot of heat for it backstage from other wrestlers.

Mandy Rose recreated a similar picture after unifying the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT UK Women’s Title in 2022.
